Fit Chicks Of North Idaho

Dear Friends,

The Fit Chicks of North Idaho meetup group (previously called Fit Chicks of Coeur d Alene) was established in 2020 for women who seek to live a fit, healthy lifestyle embracing outdoor activities in the company of like-minded women. Over the years, our activities have included kayaking/paddling, hiking, biking, walk abouts, line dancing, social events, axe throwing, snowshoeing as well as XC and downhill skiing. We have especially enjoyed meeting new friends and sharing girl time together. This was all possible through the Meetup website and app.

Initially, the annual Meetup subscription fee was covered by random donations from a number of the members. When the fee was raised to $200/year in 2024, the organizers collected $10 per person to cover the cost. Collecting dues placed an extra burden on the organizers who volunteer their time to make the group a success.  Sadly, Meetup has raised their annual fee yet again to $300/year. We feel that cost is too high for the service provided and, as volunteers, we do not want the responsibility of repeatedly collecting dues from all members. The money we previously collected covered the Meetup subscription fee through June 18, 2026. After that date FCONI will cease to be a Meetup group.

Unless….one or more current members would like to volunteer to take on the organizer roles past that date. Or, perhaps, we could transition to a group messaging app such as Signal, or WhatsApp, or another format.  We welcome suggestions as to how we can keep this amazing group of women connected and active.
