Sketch Comedy Writing, Level 1

🎟️ Register Here🎟️During this 6-week course, students will learn about the history of sketch, humor theory and what makes things funny (or not!). Your instructor, Anders Lankford, will guide students through exercises from his soon to be published book, The Art and Alchemy of Sketch Comedy Writing, to create sketches using their unique voices. Sketches may be performed at a future What the Flipside show, a student showcase, or be included in a future sketch show. No writing experience necessary. Must be over 18 years old.
See Early Bird Specials in registration. Also, all students receive a FREE show-pass to Flipside Theatre shows for entire duration of their class session!

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT: By registering for this class and/or session, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Superior Improv LLC, its officers, members, consultants, subcontractors, insureres and representatives (collectively the “company”), for any loss, damage, or injury to yourself or property in any way related to your participation in company programs. This release of liability applies to you as well as any personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin. You authorize the company in a medical emergency to seek emergency medical assistance at your expense.
CLASS/SESSION CANCELLATION POLICY: When you register for a class/session program, the company and its program contractors depend on your enrollment for a successful program, however, we understand that sometimes your plans may change. If you choose to withdraw from a class/session program, you will receive either a full credit or a full refund will be issued on the original payment method when you cancel at least five (5) business days prior to the first class meeting. No credits or refunds will be issued for cancellations made within five (5) business days of the program start date. Cancellations may be made by emailing classes@superiorimprov.co, in-person at Superior Improv Co., or by calling the company at 720-491-1162. Refunds will not be issued for programs that are canceled due to circumstances beyond the control of the company; should inclement weather cause either a full or partial cancellation of a class, if feasible the company will work with the program director in making every effort to schedule make-up day(s). Refunds will not be issued for missed days within a session (i.e. participant illnesses, vacations, etc.) and classes cannot be made up. Participants removed from programs due to disciplinary reasons will not receive a refund. If the company has to cancel a session program or workshop class for any reason, you will be notified prior to the start date and have the option to transfer to another program, receive a full credit or a full refund issued on the original payment method. To minimize cancellations, we encourage you to register for programs at least two weeks prior to the program start date. Thank you!
PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE: You give permission to the company to use any photographs, video, or other media record of your participation in company programs for any lawful purpose, without compensation.

🎟️ Get Tickets Here 🎟️Flipside Theatre is happy to present movies for those who like to talk back at the screen! Riff It uses films from the public domain to delight and amuse with two shorts and a feature film. The house will get loud as we enjoy commenting along, throwing in funny lines for the heck of it and in general being amused at bad filming! With options like these, what could go wrong?:
- Shorts: American Maker and It Must Be the Neighbors
- Feature film: The Phantom Planet, directed by William Marshall. Starring Dean Fredericks, Coleen Gray, Anthony Dexter, and Francis X. Bushman.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. Show starts at 7 PM.
$5 per ticket.All ages welcome.
Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks on-site.Flipside Theatre is located in the Superior Marketplace near Target. Parking is free. Look for our bright yellow Flipside sign!
