Boneyard Beach, Black Rock Beach and Driftwood Beach on Nassau Sound

Details

We will launch from the Sawpit Creek Boat Ramp at 10 am and paddle along Boneyard Beach, Black Rock Beach and Driftwood Beach on Nassau Sound. Depending on the conditions and the decision of the group, our destination will be a small sandbar island south of Bird Island, Driftwood Beach or the beach where Nassau Sound meets the Atlantic Ocean. We will get out to walk, eat lunch or a snack and be able to float or swim at the destination before returning to Sawpit Creek.

The Sawpit Creek Boat Ramp is located at the northern end of Big Talbot State Park off A1A just before the George Craddy Bridge. There are restrooms at the Park. I believe the park fee is $7.

Please arrive around 9:30 am so we can launch at 10 am.

Total time on water and land: 4 - 4.5 hours
Total paddling distance: 6 - 8 miles (with the current)
Low tide: 12:15 pm

If you have not already done so, please sign the release on the Florida Sea Kayaking web page before driving to the Sawpit Creek Boat Ramp.
