Lake Creek Wade Adventure!
Details
13417 Saddlebrook Trail, Austin, TX 78729
Lake Creek is easy wading and the bass like top water poppers or grasshopper patterns. The limestone was dug out years ago so it's mostly a flat bottom that's about waste deep max. This must have been done for flood control and three ponds were created, all with bass and sunfish. The water is clear and long cast will be helpful. Hopefully we will be there early enough so there will be shadows so we can get close to the bass and sunfish. Let's go catch them!! Lake Creek is special since I have walked, biked and fished there too many times for me to remember.
There's also Blue Bird Nest Watch just to the west of where we will be. As Texas Master Naturalist we monitor the nest boxes and record our findings twice weekly.
The longnose gar pics are from Brushy Creek. It was on August 1st. It was my first gar and I'm proud of it. Thanks Joey and Karim for helping me net it!!
Please Note: At 9am I'm heading to Living Waters to hear Emily Johnson speak. This link will take you to the post.
