About us
At The Folk Project Open Stage, acoustic musicians perform for welcoming and supportive audiences. Unlike most open mics, which are held in noisy bars and restaurants, The Open Stage performers play for a devoted listening audience in a unique setting featuring a state of the art sound and video system. Every performer receives via email a video of their performance.
The Open Stage is held on the 2nd Friday evening of each month at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown, NJ,. Occasionally the Open Stage is rescheduled, so check the Folk Project calendar each month to be sure.
We sometimes hire Open Stage performers to become paid acts in the Troubadour Concert Series.
Curtain is at 7:30pm.

The Folk Project Open Stage
Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown, NJ, USThe Folk Project Open Stage is the place where a diverse collection of acoustic musicians perform for a welcoming, supportive and attentive audience. We're a listening room, not a noisy bar!
We are unique among open mics in several ways. Our recently installed sound system is state-of-the-art. Additionally we have a high-definition, three-camera video production system for streaming the show. Artists receive a free digital video recording of their performance.
The Folk Project Open Stage is located at the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship (http://muuf.org/) and is typically held on the 2nd Friday of each month, but please check The Troubadour Acoustic Concert Series (The Folk Project Calendar) for schedule changes.
Admission is $7.00 cover charge at the door and $5.00 for anyone under the age of twenty-one. Refreshments and fine baked goods are complimentary and available throughout the evening.
Free-will donations are encouraged.
All those wishing to perform a 2 song, 10-minute set, at the Open Stage should visit The Folk Project to learn more about how to request a slot. Consider sending your request in 2 weeks ahead of the date that you are interested in performing on.
In the past we've "discovered" new acts at our Open Stage who have then been offered a Featured Act at a future Open Stage and, in some cases, invited to be the Opening Act for the Troubadour Concert Series.
Hope to see you soon at the Open Stage!
