Thai Town Restaurant Crawl in East Hollywood Time Fixed, DATE TO BE DETERMINED

Details

Thai Town in East Hollywood has the largest concentration of Thai people in the World Outside Thailand, even in Asia! Let's take advantage of this.

Thai Town foodie crawl (walking) in East Hollywood on Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards.

We will start at one authentic Thai restaurant and sample dishes from their menu Family Style

If you have any food allergies or restrictions, then this Thai crawl is not for you. Not suggested for vegetarians, gluten free, etc. We will all share the food cost equally, whether you eat all or just some of the dishes. We will be ordering pork, duck and shellfish.

We will meet at Siam Sunset, 5265 Sunset Blvd.
We will meet at 10am for an authentic, light Thai breakfast.

I will give a firm date once we have enough members. The time and itinerary have been set.

Next, a short walk for a block or two to Jitlada @ 5233 Sunset. They don't take reservations but we should have no or little wait as Jitlada opens at 11am or half an hour later.

Signature dishes on the Jitlada menu that are tasty include:

morning glory

soft shell crab curry or garlic soft shell crab

jungle curry

We don't want to fill up at Jitlada so we won't camp out there.

Next, we will go to another Thai restaurant for roasted duck!

If we still have enough appetite, there is a restaurant that specializes in
papaya salad, with about 12 variations! Maybe not. It depends.

Next to last, a Thai sweet shop that makes their own desserts and other goodies fresh while you can watch. Yeah, mango sticky rice but there are so many other delicious desserts. Have you ever had coconut pancakes? Yum!

Concluding our Thai foodie crawl will be a visit to a Thai supermarket to buy ingredients like Thai basil, curry paste, fresh Asian vegetables, snacks like shrimp chips, candy, etc.

There is a $3 event fee to help pay our foodie meetup group's website hosting fees to meetup.com. This can be paid at Siam Sunset.
I have been mostly paying this out of my own pocket since 2018.

Sundays are best because there is free street parking.

Join the Wait List until we get enough interests to firm up an exact time and date.
