Meetup Schedule / Itinerary:

• 09:30 am Carpool, start from Charlotte
• 11:30 am Meet at Linville Falls, Newland, NC
• 11:45 am Start hiking
• 02:30 pm Return from hikes
• 02:45 pm Ride to Winery
• 03:45 pm Event ends

Parking is free.
Parking Details: Use the gravel USFS parking lot off of NC Highway 183 (Old NC 105). This road is accessible year-round.

Breakdown of Trails
A combination of the two main moderate trails will give you great views and fit within your time limit of 3 hours.

1. Erwins View Trail
   This moderate 1.8-mile round-trip trail has four overlooks and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The final Erwins View Overlook offers a panoramic view of the Linville Gorge.
2. Plunge Basin Overlook Trail
   This is a shorter, easy to moderate 0.5-mile round-trip trail from the visitor center area to an overlook of the lower falls.
3. Duggers Creek Falls Trail
   This is an easy 0.3-mile round-trip hike to a small cascade, which is a nice quick addition.

Linville Falls Winery Visit

• Location: 9557 Linville Falls Hwy, Newland, NC 28657.
• Pets Allowed: Yes, the winery is dog-friendly (leashed).
• Details: You can enjoy tastings and tours. Reservations are not needed for general seating, but you can book a guided experience in advance. Consider bringing your own folding chairs or a picnic blanket during busy times.
• Offerings: Wine tastings, vineyard tours (bookable), and wine purchases.

What to Bring

• Lots of Water and snacks.
• Layered and waterproof clothing and thin layers for the cold. (it may snow be ready)
• Sturdy hiking boots.
• A Sense of Adventure!

Pace & Fun: We'll be keeping a moderately easy pace, so whether you're a seasoned hiker or just starting out, you'll be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
