Liverpool v Manchester City

It's only been three weeks, but that felt like longer. There was also a pretty big news story that's rocked the Premier League's foundation. It is also relevant to today's game as league leaders Manchester City visit Anfield for a mouthwatering contest with Liverpool.

Liverpool have had a competent if not amazing start to the campaign with two wins and three draws in their first five. The Reds sit 6th in the Premier League table and will be looking for a statement victory over a big rival in today's match.

Manchester City are the talk of all the headlines right now, having been found guilty of over 100 breaches of Premier League rules, pending appeal, and precariously looking at massive sanctions headed their way if the decisions stand. Back to the competition, the Cityzens are currently top of the Premier League table having on all five of their opening fixtures. 3 points clear of Champions, Arsenal.

So, anything could happen. Will the City players seize up, having been caught up in all this? Will the Liverpool players be buoyed on to elevate their passion to get a win? Will the City players feel aggrieved and adopt an us-against-the-world mantra and want to come out all guns blazing?
