Inspired by the Camino de Santiago, Footbreaks is all about active walking meetups that promote physical and mental well-being while connecting San Diego’s stunning landscapes and vibrant neighborhoods.

Our final stage of the Walk Across San Diego begins at South Carlsbad State Beach - South Ponto, where we’ll set off with breathtaking ocean views and the sound of waves guiding our way. As we make our way north, we’ll pass through the charming streets of Carlsbad Village, a lively coastal hub filled with local boutiques, cafés, and a laid-back beach town vibe. From there, we’ll follow the scenic coastline into Oceanside, home to classic surf culture and wide sandy shores. The grand finale? A walk along the iconic Oceanside Pier, where we’ll celebrate completing this incredible journey with the Pacific stretching endlessly before us. Let’s finish strong and soak in the moment—this is what walking across San Diego is all about!

Overview:

• Total distance: ~10 miles
• Path: Flat paved sidewalks & beach (your shoes will get sandy).

Starting Point:

• South Carlsbad State Beach - South Ponto Parking Lot: 2100 Carlsbad Blvd, Encinitas, CA 92024

Finish Point:

• Oceanside Pier Parking Lot : 300 N Meyers Street, Oceanside, CA 92054 ($5 all day parking)

What to bring:

FAQ's:

• Is transportation provided to/from the starting/finishing point?
• No, we recommend carpooling if you're dropping off a car at the finish/start point or using a ride share service.
• Do I have to walk the whole stage?
• Nope! If you're pressed for time or you've hit your limit, you're free to finish at any point during the walk
• Will we walk as a group?
• While we walk as a group, we understand that everyone has their own pace. Our walks are not races, so feel free to move at the speed that’s most comfortable for you. Whether you prefer a brisk pace or a more leisurely stroll, our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys the experience at their own rhythm.
