This walk offers either a 5k or an 10k route. A group walk will start at 10:00 but you can walk on your own starting between 9 and 1.
The event route incorporates an existing trail system centered upon the historic Tippecanoe River and a former Potawatomi encampment. The trails are mostly flat and meander through mostly wooded areas. Pets allowed but must be kept on a leash. Owners need to pick up after their pets.
If you feel up to another walk, these AVA Year Roundwalks are nearby: Plymouth - and Winona Lake/Grace College
These walks have written instructions and can be done any time the starting point is open. That can be found in the AVA link. Just ask for the “Walk Box”, sign in, take a Start Card, envelope and instruction sheet. When you are finished, mail in the start card to the address provided.
If you are new to AVA and would like to start keeping track of your walks, a new member packet costs $10. It includes 2 record books, one distance and one for event, ($12 value) and 3 coupons for free walks ($9 value). Credit for walks only cost $4.
