Frankfurt Swing Dancers

Lindy Hop 101: Essentials is a 10-week beginner course introducing the core rhythms, movements, and connection principles of Lindy Hop. Students learn fundamental footwork, basic partner communication, and essential figures in eight-count pattern. Over the course, the focus gradually expands from technique and timing to musicality, flow, and confident social dancing. By the end, participants build a strong foundation for dancing Lindy Hop with rhythm, connection, and ease.

Each 60-minute class is followed by a 30-minute guided practice open to both levels. During this time, students can warm up, review material from previous weeks, and try out ideas in a relaxed and supportive setting. Teachers may offer light structure or suggestions, but the focus is on practising together, building confidence, and getting comfortable with dancing socially across levels.

Lindy Hop 102: Beyond the Basics is a 10-week post-beginner course that strengthens foundational skills while adding greater variety and complexity. To join, you should know 8-count essentials, such as the swing out, promenades, send-outs, and circle. The course focuses on smoother transitions, rhythm variation, and more precise connection. The aim is not only to learn more moves, but to dance with greater control and responsiveness in partner work, as well as to have more fun and increase your confidence in social dancing.

Each 60-minute class is preceded by a 30-minute social dance shared across levels. This additional practice time helps strengthen community, encourages social dancing as a core part of the learning process, and gives students space to apply what they have learned in a relaxed setting.
