Naive Bayes - Generative AI Model

Details

Discover the hidden potential of Naive Bayes, an often overlooked cheap yet potent interpretable generative AI model. We'll begin with a foundational introduction to Bayesian statistics, paving the way to understanding the Naive Bayes technique and its practical applications. You'll see how this simple algorithm operates through a step-by-step implementation example. Finally, we'll explore how Naive Bayes can be utilized in ensemble decision-making and how it has contributed to the state-of-the-art generative AI technologies shaping the future. Whether you're new to AI or looking to deepen your knowledge, this session will offer valuable insights into a tool that deserves more recognition in the AI toolkit.

Presenter Bio:
Dustin Tracy is an experienced data scientist with over seven years of experience applying his skills to financial analytics and physics simulations. Holding a Doctorate in Physics from the University of Florida, Dustin has used his deep technical expertise to develop predictive models that significantly enhance investment decision-making processes for financial institutions.

At OxyML, Dustin has played a pivotal role in developing multiple Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for financial planning and analysis, employing simple yet effective techniques such as linear and logistic regression and Naïve Bayes to advanced machine learning techniques such as transformers and reservoir computing. His contributions extend to academia, where he has published work on Quantum Mechanics/Molecular Mechanics (QM/MM) simulations in notable journals.
