Samba is festive and lighthearted. It brings to mind pictures of Rio’s festive and exotic Carnival! Samba is usually danced to a moderately fast tempo which ranks high among social, as well as, competitive dancers. Its intoxicating rhythm is an amalgamation of African and Latin American music, and the body movement is characterized by a bouncing action. This class is designed for new students, students on their Social Foundation program, and advanced students interested in starting Samba.
