Education Without the State: Free Cities Meetup — London

Join us for the third Free Cities Meetup - London, featuring a talk and discussion with renowned author and education expert James Tooley.

This month’s Free Cities meetup will focus on the topic of education. Without the state offering free schooling, will it be possible for the private sector to step in and provide quality education for all? Will children of less well-off families be put at a disadvantage by a private system? Will the overall quality of education suffer if placed in the hands of profit-seeking organizations? At our September meetup, Professor Tooley will draw on insights from his books, The Beautiful Tree: A Personal Journey into how the World's Poorest People are Educating Themselves, and Really Good Schools: Global Lessons for Low-cost High Calibre Education, to answer these questions. Following a talk there will be a discussion and audience Q&A.
