For 170 years now man-made EMFs have been passing through the ether and also our bodies. This invisible radiation is purportedly non-ionising & therefore assessed as 'safe' by various world regulatory authorities.
However, there are a number of scientific papers published which provide alternative evidence. Some experts have questioned the safety of 5G & have even called for a moratorium on further rollouts of the technology until a fully substantiated, independent analysis of long-term health implications has been provided.
It seems unlikely though that we will reverse the trend of this technology. Both business & personal desire for faster internet speeds has seen no quashing of enthusiasm for 5G & soon possibly 6G.
The rollout also coincides with plans for 'Smart Cities'. Drones will deliver parcels, bins will report when they need emptying, autonomous vehicles will be able to drive on roads. None of this could be possible without the high-speed wireless technology.
On a darker note it will also make it far easier for governments to surveil their citizens. There is also much talk about 15 minute zones, social credits & digital currencies, which could all become a possibility in the near future.
Are Smart phones also becoming the equivalent of 'cigarette addiction' for the modern age? It's becoming difficult to remember a time when the entire world wasn't plugged into the net 24/7.
So come along for an interesting debate, all opinions are welcome and we only ask that you respect the opinions of others, whilst also refraining from any abusive language.
As our venue will be a pub, we will also have a social gathering afterwards if anyone wishes to stay, it makes sense to add to the coffers of our friends in the hostelry trade.
Look forward to debating with everyone.
