🌲Save the Trees 🌲 Lake Merritt - Lakeside Park

In partnership with Trees for Oakland (TfO), we at Oakland Parks & Recreation Foundation (OPRF) are excited to annouce our Summer 2025 Save the Trees volunteer events!

Join us for a day of tree care and tree education at Lakeside Park along Grand Ave on Juneteenth Thursday June 19th.

We will work together to: remove weeds that are growing too close to the young trees, sheet-mulch around the new trees and existing Cork oak trees, water the trees, apply mycorrhizal fungi spores, and prune the trees if necessary.

Bring a hat for shade, sunscreen, water bottle, and your energy for growing Oakland's Urban Forest with like-minded tree folk!
