Free Beginner+ Hike: Rainbow Valley
Details
Experience the dramatic mineral-stained rock formations and broad mountain valleys of the Rainbow Valley Hike, a scenic linear trail starting from Dhanhah and following the wide wadi north toward Wadi Ghub. This is an 8–9 km out-and-back hike (about 3–3.5 hours) with steady elevation gain (~350 m), loose gravel, and long open stretches. Suitable for beginners who are reasonably fit and comfortable walking for a longer duration.
Meet at 06:00 AM at the trailhead; bring water, snacks, and sturdy hiking shoes with good grip. Expect colourful sandstone layers, wide desert-mountain views, and a peaceful, quiet valley. Join at your own risk.
