Introduction to Combat Robot Building: Micro Bots

Details

Michael Jeffries of Near Chaos Robotics will be teaching the basics of Robot Combat. Learn how to find parts, how to build, control, power and compete in your first event. Learn about the different weight classes, weapons, styles and what works and doesn't. Avoid rookie mistakes and save money in the long run!

This class will focus on building 1lb (Ant Weight) and 3lbs (Beetles Weight) class robots. These classes offer a lower cost of entry to new builders and let you get your feet wet, as well as being a lot of fun to build and fight.

You've got time to build a bot before the May 9th Freeside Atlanta Robot Street Fight event, and plenty of time to repair and improve it before Dragon*Con on Labor Day weekend!

Michael is a Mechanical Engineer, a regular contributor to Servo Magazine, and past winner of the 1lb, 12lb, and 30lb Robot Battles competition at Dragon*Con. Event videos and robot builds can be found at http://nearchaos.net/
