La Promenade (Crown Point - Catamaran Hotel) - 9:30
(version française ci-après) Let's start off the weekend with a walk at Crown Point à la Française at 9:30 a.m.! That's right, we'll meet at the Crown Point parking lot at the south end this Saturday. From Ingraham Ave go east on Crown Point Dr, then turn right on Corona Oriente. Turn right at the first entrance into the parking lot. Upon entering the Crown Point parking lot go right toward the south end near the public restrooms. There are two restrooms so look for us at the southern one. We'll walk in a westerly direction along the beach and cross under the Ingraham overpass, walking toward the Cataraman Resort Hotel. Should anyone wish to get a coffee there is a coffee bar outside the hotel by the beach. We will then return to Crown Point via the same path we took. The main focus is to speak French, meet new people, and enjoy the beach in the morning. We will mostly be speaking in French, so this is for average to advanced speakers. But if you are learning and want to listen in, pas de problème. We will wait about 10 min. before leaving for the walk. So you can catch up with us if you are late. PS - If you don't RSVP you won't be able get last minute notices as in cancellations, time/location changes, etc...). This meetup is always free of charge and generously sponsored by Sophie Juster, a certified french teacher from Paris. Check out her site at The rates for the lessons start at $9.99/hr. What we're about

We are a group of dedicated French speakers who have been meeting since 2002, and sharing our interest in the French language. We welcome all levels of French speakers, from beginners to native speakers, and basically, we have a great time. Please keep in mind that all of our conversations are in French, so be prepared to speak only in French. Our monthly (3rd Wednesday) meetups have continued to grow through the years and are our most popular events. Additionally, thanks to our assistant organizers and group members, we have events each week now, and plan special events throughout the year! On se vera au meetup!

I am a certified French teacher from Paris, where I was born and resided until 2001. I am the owner and founder of From English to French. I have taught French for 15 years, first at La Sorbonne, then at UCSD, I now only teach full time at my office in Hillcrest
Since 2002, we have provided the best and most unique French teaching services in San Diego. We teach French to about 100 students/week.
We don't charge any registration, membership and other hidden fees for our classes. The teaching material is even included for ALL adult classes. Most students call our espressos, the best ones in San Diego. Please check out our students testimonials on our new website.
