What we’re about
Bonjour à tous!
This is a group for anyone who would like to learn, maintain or perfect French, whether you are based in Scotland or elsewhere on the planet (people from other planets welcome too). I am a native, experienced French teacher, and I love sharing my passion for French culture and language learning.
Whether you just want some opportunities to chat and maintain your French or to seriously improve or learn, there will be events of all sorts, but always in a fun and friendly atmosphere!
Some events are free, and some others are paid. To attend the free events, you can just RSVP here. The paid ones can be booked directly on my website: www.frenchtotakeaway.com. Don't forget to do so after having RSVP here because you won't be given access to the event otherwise.
Here are some regular events that can be on:
Weekly classes: these are regular 1-1.5 hours classes designed to help you learn different aspects of French every week. Here are the current classes:
- Begin French: ideal for complete beginners (people with zero experience of French), but also good for beginners with some knowledge (A1-A2 levels). Every Wednesday, from 11am to 12pm UK time, £12 per session.
- Fluent French: this is a class designed to help you practice fluency -that is, begin able to speak without having to think about the rules. It is about internalising the rules and knowledge so that your flow becomes spontaneous and effortless. Every Monday from 4:30pm to 6;00pm UK time, £18 per session.
- Speak French: conversation classes. Designed to get you to practice French informally with other speakers. Every Wednesday, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm UK time, free.
- Real French: a class to learn colloquial and informal French, as well as unofficial grammar rules - the French that is spoken every day, pretty different from the grammar book one! Every Thursday, from 11am to 12:30pm UK time, £18 per session.
Workshops: these are 2-3 hours sessions designed to deepen your knowledge in specific areas to perfect French and avoid mistakes. For people of all levels with already some knowledge of French (not useful for complete beginners).
Short Courses: same than workshops, but longer (4-10 hours). Ideal for people who really want to perfect their French and get to master specific areas completely.
I also offer private lessons, tailored to your needs and availability. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to send me a private message!
You can find any additional information on my website: www.frenchtotakeaway.com.
Unless specific circumstances, advertised events will usually go ahead even if there is only one person, so do not hesitate to sign up even if you are the only one! First, it encourages others to come too; second, I'm not scary and I'll take care of you as if you were a queen or a king (or maybe this isn't the right comparison considering I'm French?)!
PLEASE NOTE: Put a clear photo of yourself + at least your first name, so we can all recognize each other easily. When you join an online event, turn on your camera so that we can all see your puzzlement when you don't understand something 😜
Looking forward to meeting you all!
