We offer formal presentations and/or critiques every 3rd Thursday of each month at the Salem Church Library from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, unless otherwise noted in our meetings. Star Trails Photography
Jewell Hollow Overlook, Luray, VA 22835, USA, Luray, VA, USJoin the Fresh Start Photography Group for an outdoor photo shoot focused on capturing star trails. This event is perfect for photographers of all levels who enjoy landscape photography. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn new skills or a seasoned photographer seeking inspiration, this group photo shoot will provide numerous opportunities to practice your craft and connect with fellow photography enthusiasts. During this event, participants will have the chance to network, share tips and tricks, and immerse themselves in the art of nature photography.
The Jewell Hollow Overlook offers a clear view of Polaris, the North Star, so star trails will form circles in your pictures. Bring a chair, a thermos with something hot to drink, a picnic supper or snacks, camera, lens (you probably want to use your widest and fastest lens), lens heater (to prevent dew), and a tripod. A very helpful (but not absolutely necessary) accessary is an external intervalometer that will allow you to take longer exposures. Basic instructions will be provided for download to all participants. This will be a fun and educational experience in the great outdoors. Don't miss this chance to expand your portfolio, learn from others, and enjoy a creative evening out with the Fresh Start Photography Group.
While there is no charge for this Meetup Event the Shenandoah National Park requires an Entrance Pass and will charge an access fee unless you have a valid pass.
Rain dates are November 5 and 10.
