About us
Welcome to our community of dog lovers who like to explore local trails and wilderness together. We are big on comradery, humor and adventure but do not tolerate whining or MAGA fans well. Not all of us own dogs but all of us enjoy their company ( the happiness and the dirt they bring). Most of us are women between 50- 75, who are young at heart . We love to move at a mellow pace and cover 3-6 miles on a typical hike.If you are available to hike Tuesdays or Saturdays and are a problem solver and kind person we would love to have you along . Our dogs and us have become quite close friends sharing trails and lunches afterwards, going to movies on weekends.....If this all sounds good to you and you are fit enough to walk about 6 miles at a time and like to laugh a lot , this group is for you ! PLS DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE WAITLISTS : THEY NORMALLY CLEAR 2 -3 DAYS BEFORE AND AT LEAST HALF OF WAIT LISTERS GET TO GO! Just check in a few days before .
If you can't come we ask that you un- rsvp at least 48 hours in advance so others can adjust their plans and take your space
WE ASK THAT ALL DOGS ARE NEUTERED/ SPAYED AND WELL- BEHAVED . MOST HIKES ARE OFF-LEASH AND THE DOGS GET ALONG AS FAMOUSLY AS THEIR PARENTS DO....

Beholden Storytelling: Solstice & Equinox Gatherings
Roundabout Books, 900 Northwest Mount Washington Drive, Bend, OR, USTHIS SOUNDS LIKE AN INSPIIRING AND COMMUNITY BUILDING EVENT!J oin us for the first gathering of Beholden Storytelling: Solstice & Equinox Gatherings Join storyteller Jared Anderson and host Ben Paulus at Roundabout Books for a seasonal evening of live storytelling and shared reflection, held in a respectful, intentional container. Each gathering features a mythic or traditional story told with drum, followed by guided conversation in small groups. Together, we explore how the story speaks to us in our current moment both individually and culturally. Tickets are $20 per person and benefit the Beholden 501c3 non-profit. Beholden is a 501c3 non-profit that runs programs centered on personal growth, in and out of Nature, and restorative justice as repair and accountability between individuals and amongst communities. This is the first in an ongoing series tied to the seasonal solstices and equinoxes.
Jared Anderson is a Counselor, Rite Guide, Storyteller and Co-founder of Beholden. Since he was twenty, he’s been seeking wisdom, guidance and healing in nature, in old stories, from mentors and from solitude. He learned to tell story by hearing story told with a drum by a man in Minnesota and began to tell story because he needed to hear it in this old way. Since no one was around to do so, he had to take it up himself. He also works as a one-on-one counselor with adults and as group facilitator for people with mental health and addiction challenges.
Ben Paulus is a local poet, writer, improv veteran, coach, and change facilitator. He has a passion and knack for creating safe spaces where people can be themselves, embrace change, and create magic together. Ben is also the founder of the Better Dads Project (betterdadsproject.com), helping Central Oregon men step into fatherhood with purpose and intention.6 attendees
