Can't wait to do this cool Canyon hike again,as it is only available to us during a limited time to allow for the protection of birds nesting there . we love this finger of the Badlands Wilderness, a nook that holds a trail that winds in and out of old twisty junipers, bordered by 300’ steep basalt cliffs. An ancient river cut the canyon, once draining the ancient Lake Millican. Rounded boulders, worked by the old river, appear out of place along the now dry trail. Dogs can run free most of the way- we do recommend traction devices for your boots and hiking poles because there can be some snowy / icy spots. OPTIONAL LUNCH AFTERWARDS .**PLS CHECK IN 2 DAYS PRIOR AS WEATHER CONDITION CAN CHANGE OUR PLANS .*PLS***
