Decorate a tree for wildlife and go for a short hike (dog friendly)

It's a German family tradition to go out into the forest around Christmas and decorate a tree with gifts for the animals like: cranberries strung on a string, birdseed pressed into an ornament, pinecones rolled in peanut butter & birdseed, cut up apples ( nothing with cor , though ) . We will carpool to the find a tree on the Old Back Nine golf course and hike for 2 miles out there. We really enjoyed doing this this last year - and within days birds and deer had partaken in all our offerings :-)
Pls bring something to hang on the tree and BRING ONLY DOGS WHO WILL NOT RAID THE TREES , loll Be dressed to go out into possibly snow- and check in the day before ,because weather sometimes changes our plans.
