Let's go explore a pretty canyon in the Cline Falls Recreation Area! This is a gentle, low, side canyon that is a great place for dogs to run. Although most of the trails in the area are connected to each other, the connectivity of this trail is a bit confusing. Therefore, we will do this as an out-and-back hike. You can hike as far as you wish, turning around at any time. We will show you other possibilities for additional hikes that you can take another time or on this day by yourself. This canyon doesn't seem to have a name. About a mile of the drive is on an unpaved road that potentially could have soft or packed snow or mud. No parking passes are required. This BLM land requires that dogs are either leashed or under voice control. OPTIONAL LUNCH IN TUMALO AFTERWARDS .

Please note that from Feb. 1 - Aug. 31 there are seasonal trail closures in parts of this area. The closures protect golden eagles (and other raptors) during their sensitive nesting period. BLM wildlife staff monitor nests frequently and will lift closures as soon as possible but no sooner than May 15.

Please revisit this website the day before, because inclement weather sometimes changes our plans and leads us to hike in another location. It is appreciated when you un-RSVP at least two days before so those on the waitlist have a chance to participate and adjust their plans.
