Saturday Socialising/Drinks in Central London @ the Historic Cittie of Yorke

Join us for Saturday Socialising and Drinks at one of London's most beautiful venues - the Cittie of Yorke in Central London, which has a history dating back to the 15th century. Even the poet Dylan Thomas wrote about the venue on one of his frequent visits.

Both membership to our Friends in London community meetup group and entry to this event are free. Please note that we do vary our events and at this specific 'socialising' event there will be no music, which makes it much more 'conversation friendly'.

We have organised numerous events at this venue. However, this will be the first time the management has kindly offered us our own private function room. This function room is called 'The Lounge' and is located on the left-hand side of the venue. You should first walk through the main entrance of the pub and immediately afterwards you will see the door to our room on the left hand side.

Please note that the nearest open tube station to this venue will now be Holborn. Holborn Tube Station is only a five minute walk to the venue. Chancery Lane Tube Station will be closed. If you are arriving via Holborn Tube Station then you will need to use the Piccadilly Line as the Central Line will be closed in this area of London.

Both membership to our Friends in London Community Meetup Group and entry to this event are free.

The event hosts (Martyn and Terry) will be waiting to greet new members in our private function room. You'll be able to recognise us as we will be holding the attendance lists and our photos are on the RSVP list.

Please 'Click Here' to view a photograph of the function room. Note that the tables and chairs shown in the photograph will all be moved to the side on the night to create more space for socialising.

The event will start at 8:00 pm and will finish when the venue closes at 11:00 pm. We highly recommend new members arrive as close to the 8:00 pm start as possible (ideally before 8:30 pm). At this time it's much easier to introduce new members to the group, before most members start arriving. Please note that while we kindly ask new members to arrive before 8:30 pm - please can everyone arrive by 9:30 pm at the very latest.

Note that in this venue our private function room is just a base for our group. As the event becomes busier, we may be required to extend into areas beyond our private function room and into the main public bar to accommodate our group.
