Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Classic Cinema Evening - Near Leicester Square
Join us for a Sunday afternoon visit to see the classic comedy film - 'Monty Python and The Holy Grail' at the iconic Prince Charles cinema, just off Leicester Square itself. This 1975 film was recently voted by the global website Ranker as the funniest film in history. This is such a rare opportunity to see this film on the big screen - we know as we have been looking for year's :-) "Monty Python and the Holy Grail follows King Arthur who is accompanied by his trusty servant Patsy to seek knights to join his round table at Camelot. The quest isn’t, however, as easy as it might sound: constitutional-obsessed peasants, a Three-Headed Knight and singing dancers of Camelot are only a few of the characters that our merry group of knights will come across on their journey". The Prince Charles is one the last independent cinemas in Central London and regularly shows classic films, alongside more current films. We feel it's important to support these increasingly rare independent cinemas. The organisers (Martyn and Terry) have already purchased our individual tickets from the cinema and members can do so by booking online through the Prince Charles cinema website, or at the box office on the day. All tickets are priced at £10, plus a £0.75 booking fee when purchased online and are for general admission. Tickets can also be purchased on the day, but be aware the seats often sell out, so please check availability with the box office beforehand. For those members looking to pre-book tickets - please visit the following link to the official cinema film booking page: NOTE THAT ALL TICKETS ARE FOR GENERAL ADMISSION AND SPECIFIC SEATS CAN'T BE BOOKED. We will meet members inside the cinema foyer from 3:00 pm on the day and take our seats 5 minutes before the programme starts at 3:30 pm. This will give members time to purchase refreshments/snacks and for us to welcome new members to our meetup group. After the film finishes, members have the option of joining us in the cosy downstairs cinema bar for drinks and a chat. Membership to our Friends in London community meetup group which has been running for 8 year's is free and there is no meetup fee, just the film ticket to be purchased directly from the cinema. Please note that by the act of attending our events, members (and guests of members) confirm they have read and agreed with our terms and conditions. These can be read by read by visiting the following page: kind regards Martyn and Terry (Friends in London Organisers)

What we're about

If you’re looking to meet new friends in London then our social events group may just be the right place for you.

You'll not only get the chance to meet new people, but you'll also be able to sample every type of activity that involves socialising; Nights out, Walks, Museums, Live Music, Treasure Hunts, Day Trips, Galleries, Parties, Picnics, Dance Nights, Live Comedy, travel etc.

Friends in london is now one of the largest and often the best attended Meetup group in the UK. However, as we've grown we firmly believe we've remained as welcoming as ever - at least that's the constant feedback we recieve time and time again. Friends in London Meetup Group was founded by brothers Martyn Lloyd and Terry Lloyd 7 years ago who both still continue to host nearly every event.

If you're new to the meetup scene we thoroughly recommend searching through the past events of as many meetup groups as possible. Check out the independent reviews/ratings of past events and then make a decision from there as to whether you think that meetup would be suitable for you. If you do that research then we just may make your list of appropriate groups :-)

Please note that members must be adults over the age of 18 to attend our events. However, providing members are adults, all ages are welcome at our events.

Also feel free to join over 2,000 members who follow us on Facebook by 'Clicking Here'. (
