Join Us for a Community Trash Blitz at Weir Gulch, within Ruth Lucille Dreiling Park!

We’re taking on the stretch of Weir Gulch extending within Ruth Lucille Dreiling Park and through Barnum Park—from Alameda Blvd down the gulch—to help restore this vital space for the wildlife who call it home.

From turtles and muskrats to egrets, plovers, and countless other species, this urban riparian corridor provides essential habitat. Removing debris from the gulch not only protects these animals from harm, but also improves water quality, reduces pollution, and helps the ecosystems and parks linked to the South Platte River thrive.

We’ll be:

  • Reducing pollution to support and protect wildlife
  • Using trash pickers, buckets, and bags to remove debris and dispose of it in designated dumpsters
  • Equipped with plenty of waders and tools to clean along the shoreline

This event is family-friendly and perfect for anyone looking to make a visible, lasting impact on wildlife and our environment. These efforts will also help restore the health and beauty of the waterways and parks linked to the South Platte River.
