Community Cleanup @ South Platte River & Overland Pond

Details

Join us to take on the South Platte River and pond at Overland Park to help restore habitat for Colorado’s native wildlife!

From western painted turtles, to great blue herons, snowy egrets, and many more species, the South Platte River and Overland Pond provide vital habitat for Colorado’s native wildlife. These waterways serve as essential feeding, nesting, and migratory stopover sites—playing a critical role in the health of broader ecosystems and urban parks.

Join Friends of Animals’ Wildlife Law Program, Canada Geese Protection, and GreenLatinos for a hands-on day of impact. We’ll be removing as much debris and plastic pollution as possible to protect wildlife from entanglement and poisoning, improve water quality, and support the biodiversity that makes Colorado’s parks and connected habitats so extraordinary.

This event is family-friendly and perfect for anyone looking to make a visible, lasting impact on wildlife and our shared environment.

Participants must register and can do so in person upon arrival.
