It's fun, it's great exercise, it makes you feel good, and the scenics and camaraderie are unbeatable. And hey, as proof, I even met my wife on a trail construction trip!

We welcome you to join us at the edge of the BWCAW for the last bit of brushing, sign placing, new deadfall removal, etc. before we announce the official opening of the Moss Lake Trail and the Rose Cliffs Loop Route.

Overlooking Moss Lake from the Moss Lake Trail

All community gear such as trail clearing equipment, safety gear, cooking gear, stoves, etc. will be provided. You will be responsible for your own personal gear such as sleeping bags, clothing, etc. A packing list for fall mechanized trail clearing trips and directions to the Rockwood Lodge are posted on the MU Site under More / Files.

Please note that we cannot properly plan the trip if you do not answer the questions asked when you RSVP. Those people not answering the questions will be placed on the waiting list until the answers are received. If you've already provided this information to us previously this year you can skip the questions.

In order to reserve your spot we must receive your trip fee / deposit of $35.00. You may pay it via PayPal to Registrar@BorderRouteTrail.org and reference "09/11/14 Moss Lake" or you may notify us via email or phone that you're paying by check and write it in the amount of $35 made out to BRTA and send it to BRTA c/o Ed Solstad, 3701 Pillsbury Ave. So., Minneapolis, MN 55409.

This event is sponsored by the Border Route trail Association and is cross-posted with the Friends of the Border Route Trail (https://www.meetup.com/Friends-of-the-Border-Route-Trail/), Active Outdoors - Duluth / Superior (https://www.meetup.com/Active-Outdoors-Duluth-Superior/) and Twin City Hiking Meetup Groups (https://www.meetup.com/hiking-177/) and the Minnesota Rovers Outdoors Club (http://www.mnrovers.org/).

Thanks for helping us to maintain some of the most scenic trails in the Upper Midwest.
