Hello. Friends Who Still Show Up, is a welcoming place for women 40+. Our group allows women from different backgrounds, cultures, beliefs an opportunity to connect and participate in events and activities throughout the greater Kansas City metro. Activities include hiking, attending live music, concerts, or the theatre, brunching, playing cards and board games, and many more… This group is designed for women, to become Friends Who Still Show Up.
Membership Requirements
Members are required to:
· Provide and use your real name, both first AND last name
· Ensure your profile contains an updated, recognizable profile picture to help organizers locate you at events
· Answer profile questions thoughtfully and genuinely
· Friends Who Still Show Up has an annual fee of $10.00 for members. If the fee is not received within 45-days, members may be removed from the group.
Basic Guidelines
Demonstrate kindness, honesty and integrity at all times
Check the Meetup site regularly. When you RSVP to an event, you are responsible for managing your RSVP in Meetip. If you register for an event, but are unable to attend, please update your RSVP from "Yes" to "No" in Meetup. This allows ample time for members to be notified and fill your spot from the waitlist. If there is a change in your availability within 24-hours of the event date, please message, text, or call the organizer directly.
Our group is fortunate to have volunteer organizers who plan events for members to engage with one another and be actively involved. It is important that each event organizer has an accurate "headcount" for event planning purposes and to relay to the event location if needed.
We strive to make all our group and events safe, fun, and drama free for all members. We realize conflict or issues may arise in any group from time to time and should that happen, we suggest members address it with the other member directly, but respectfully. While we prefer to never remove anyone from the group we will not hesitate to do so if we deem that anyone is jeopardizing the safety of our members or damaging the group’s reputation.
