Butterfly and Insect walk

Details

On Saturday June 14th, Blake Dinius and FMSSF will offer the second butterfly and nature walk of the year, exploring the treasures that Myles Standish State Forest has to offer. Ever wondered how the life changes with the seasons? Just as plants bloom at different times of the year, insects and animals are often more active for only a short while. Some butterflies only fly for a few weeks. Join us for the 2nd of 3 walks aimed at exploring how nature shifts with time.

Massachusetts is home to over 100 species of butterfly, and over 3000 types of moths. Blake will bring along a net, so we can closely view what we see along the fields on and near the Bentley Loop Trail, a prime viewing area. If you wish, bring along binoculars, and a camera. We will document what we observe and list in the post hike comments.
