Summer Solstice Nature Hike - 1st night

Details
Come enjoy the start of summer with a Wednesday evening nature hike in Myles Standish State Forest. Signs of nature will be observed along the way as the evening emerges and this will be a quiet walk at times. Blake Dinius, an Entomologist for Plymouth County will be co-host. The hike will be through the center of the park in Wildlife Management areas, passing by some ponds, vernal pools, numerous fields and pine barren habitat.
This hike will be a repeat of the Solstice hikes offered the last few years. On those hikes we were serenaded by some Whip-poor-wills and Hermit Thrushes, loud choruses of frogs and had wonderful finishes with a magical firefly light shows. Dogs are welcome if they are leashed.
I expect the hike to be between 2 and 2.5 hours and approximately 4.5 miles. The pace will be relaxed as we will be stopping to observe sights and sounds of nature. We will be finishing after sunset(8:21), so bring a headlamp or flashlight if you are uncomfortable walking in semi darkness, but there may be some moonlight. We will request darkness for the last field section to observe fireflies.
