Saturday Butterfly walk

Details

This Saturday will be the 3rd and final walk of our butterfly phenology walks around Myles Standish State forest.

We will walk through the fields in search of monarchs, hairstreaks, and other mid-summer species. We'll discuss the native plants in the area and their relationships to the butterflies that we see.

This walk is targeted to beginning butterfliers and other interested folks, all levels of butterfly enthusiasts are welcome.

Location is at the Bentley Loop in Myles Standish State Forest at 10 AM.

Massachusetts is home to over 100 species of butterfly, and over 3000 types of moths. Blake will bring along a net, so we can closely view what we see along the fields on and near the Bentley Loop Trail, a prime viewing area. If you wish, bring along binoculars, and a camera. We will document what we observe and list in the post hike comments.
