Pine Barrens Path loop

Details

Join us to hike part of the Pine Barrens Path at Myles Standish State Forest. We'll meet at Parking Lot 4 - The East Entrance to MSSF at approximately 394 Long Pond Rd. in Plymouth. The parking lot is just off the main road.

We will hike about 3.5 miles of the Pine Barrens Trail and then loop back to the start on unpaved fire roads totaling about 6.5 miles. The terrain is rolling hills, but no big climbs. It took us about 2.5 hours in March.

Please wear sturdy shoes, bring a rain jacket, water and snacks. We'll hike at a moderate pace with occasional stops. Some of the trails are narrow, allowing only one person to pass at a time. Be aware of the possibility of ticks.

(The Pine Barrens Path runs 9 miles about half a mile in from the eastern border of Myles Standish. Yes, the park is that big.)
