Details

The Western Gate Chapter maintains the Blackwater side trail of the Florida Trail in Blackwater River State Forest or State Park on one or more Saturdays each month. This event is open to all, whether a member of the Florida Trail Association or not. No experience is necessary.

Bring water and snacks in a small back pack. Bring work gloves if you have them and a willing attitude. Tools will be provided. Sunscreen, bug spray, and hiking boots, shoes or other close-toed shoes are recommended. Come out to enjoy working in the beauty of the woods with other FTA members who are knowledgeable and would like to share the experience with you.
If you are not a member of the Florida Trail Association, but would like to join, visit floridatrail.org and click on Get Involved.

ALSO: All volunteers should read the Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for Trail Maintenance on the FTA web site
(https://floridatrail.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/FTA-2018-JHA.pdf) and the new COVID-19 JHA at https://floridatrail.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/JHA-COVID-19-FNST-Executed-30June2020.pdf.

Check your email right before you leave home in case there is a change or cancellation. If you RSVP "Yes" and can't make it for any reason, please change to "No".
