Talking about failure in business is taboo, should it be? Well, considering most of us have enough business failures to start our own Netflix series, probably not. At Fuckup Nights YEG, we don't shy away from failure, we celebrate it like it just paid off our student loans. Do you know what? We all do it, we all fuck up from time to time and if you haven't yet, just wait, the universe has a sick sense of humor and excellent timing.
Let's talk about it! Let's have the uncomfortable conversations where a failure has led to success, where you accidentally discovered that your terrible restaurant idea was actually a brilliant catering concept, or where getting fired became the kick in the pants you needed to start your own empire. Let's be candid and honest about the struggles of entrepreneurship, because Instagram success stories are about as realistic as unicorns doing your taxes.
Having these conversations helps others learn (translation: misery loves company), gives them insight into what to expect (hint: chaos with a side of imposter syndrome), how to handle a situation (step 1: breathe, step 2: hide under your desk and silently cry), and gives everyone an opportunity to connect and have a conversation with someone new, someone who has been there, done that, and somehow lived to tell the tale without requiring intensive therapy.
Join us for a FuN evening of listening, learning and connecting with other entrepreneurs it's like a support group, but with better Wi-Fi and fewer tears (we hope). Fuckup Nights YEG is so happy to be collaborating with Homestead Coworking to bring you a safe space to share your experiences in an intimate setting with drinks, donuts, and non-judgement. Think of it as TED Talks meets group therapy meets your favorite coffee shop where everyone knows your order and your deepest business insecurities.
We will provide the speakers (brave souls who've agreed to publicly roast their past selves), have refreshments available, delicious treats from Destination Donuts (because carbs heal all wounds), and the safe space. All you need to do is bring yourself and maybe a friend to enjoy the evening with, someone who won't remind you about this when you inevitably mess up again next week.
This is a ticketed event, $35+ Fees & GST
