Started out as a local Meetup at the office of PAQT in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Since then, we have grown to an online community of over 900 developers around the world.

Talk 2: The Messy History of the JavaScript Bundler - By Pieter Jordaan
For this meetup, Pieter takes us on a journey through “The Messy History of the JavaScript Bundler” — exploring how we got from simple JavaScript files to today’s complex bundling ecosystem, and why things became quite as messy as they did.Pieter Jordaan is a Lead Developer at PAQT and has been working with PHP for 15 years. With a career that started in the days of Internet Explorer 6, he has seen the web evolve from the early days of modern web development to today’s complex frontend ecosystems. While his background is strongly rooted in backend development, Pieter enjoys working across the full stack and has a particular interest in application architecture and the connection between frontend and backend.
In 2026, Pieter spoke at the Dutch PHP Conference about file uploads and REST APIs. He is also the creator of Apie, an open-source PHP library focused on better tooling for Domain Objects.
