Details
For our next meeting, we will be discussing if we should ever break the law by looking at the arguments in Plato's Crito. After being sentenced to death for corruption of the youth and impeity, Socrates' friend, Crito constructs an escape plan. Crito argues in favor of Socrates breaking the law to escape his sentence and live with his familiy for his remaining years. However, Socrates argues for the obedience of the Athenian law and accepts his demise. Join us for a thoughtful discussion on the parameters of breaking the law in an online meeting on Discord.
