Stoicism and Epicureanism were two rival schools of philosophy that adopted the motto, "To live according to Nature". This week, we will read and discuss an article by Massimo Piglucci where he outlines the differences in the two philosophies.

The Stoics promoted acting in accordance to reason and taking pro-social actions while the Epicureans advised to avoid pain and seek pleasure. Piglucci claims these two approaches can be complementary for a well lived life. Join us for a thoughtful discussion on human nature and its connection to living well as we drink and dine at Brewheim.
