December Meetup at icapps

Our last meetup of the year will be held in the icapps offices. Their address: Rijnkaai 100 B16 Hangar 26/27 · Antwerpen

It will be a JavaScript themed evening. First Bram Van Damme, who runs an excellent blog at https://bram.us, will talk about the features and changes the next releases of JavaScript will bring. Also speaking is Jasper, developer at icapps, who will be speaking on React Native.

With this 12th meetup of 2018, we hit our goal of organising a meetup every single month of the year. We do hope you enjoyed them and that you will stay attending our meetups in 2019. We got some exciting plans for 2019 that we will hope to share soon.

What's next for JavaScript? by Bram Van Damme

With the release of ES2015 (“ES6”) a lot has changed in JavaScript-land. Lesser known (and less feature rich) releases are the ES2016 and ES2017 releases. This talk not only touches these two new releases but also digs into the recent ES2018 release, and finally looks forward at what's to come next for JavaScript.

Speaker: Bram Van Damme, nicknamed Bramus, is a 34 year old geezer who lives in Vinkt (Belgium) together with his son Finn and his daughter Tila.

With his company 3RDS he works as a freelance creative coder, tackling both the frontend and the backend. His current focus is on JavaScript, React and React Native. Before launching 3RDS, Bramus worked at several web agencies in various frontend en backend roles. For seven years he also was a Lecturer Web at a technical university in Belgium.

In this talk we'll guide you through our road of creating a mobile banking app in React Native. Highlighting some of the problems we've experienced, explaining the solutions we've implemented on our Quest of releasing the first mobile banking application in Belgium.

Speaker: Jasper Vercammen is React and React Native developer at icapps since 2015. He is one of our experts in developing financial banking applications.
