From giant animated skeletons and gothic balconies to fully decked-out pumpkin stoops, the UES brownstones really go all out for the season. It’s a great, low-key way to explore a beautiful neighborhood and meet new friends!

• Meeting Point: Outside the 68th St – Hunter College Station (6 Train).
• Route Highlights: We’ll stroll through iconic decorated blocks, including East 64th St (famous for interactive displays), East 70th St, and East 74th St.
• Post-Walk: Optional stop at a nearby local spot for drinks or warm drinks/bites to chat and unwind!

After the screening, we’ll walk over to a nearby casual spot in the neighborhood to grab dinner, unwind, and discuss the film together!

Grab a hot cocoa, mulled wine, or seasonal craft cocktail from the on-site trail bars and explore the illuminated garden with new friends!

### Logistics & Transit Plan

• 5:45 PM – 6:00 PM: Meet up near Herald Square outside Marcy entrance on Broadway (34th St station area).
• 6:00 PM: Group departs on public transit together:
• We will take the B or Q Train from 34 St – Herald Sq directly to Prospect Park station
• From the station, it’s a short ~5-minute walk to the main entrance of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
• 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Walk the 1-mile illuminated Lightscape trail, stop for warm drinks, and take photos along the path.

### What to Bring

• Government ID: Required for the 21+ entry check at the gate.
• Warm Outerwear: It will be chilly at night along the open garden paths—dress in warm layers, coat, hat, and gloves!

Dyker Heights, Brooklyn.
Famous for houses completely covered in life-sized nutcrackers, glowing nativity scenes, giant inflatable santas, and millions of twinkling lights, this neighborhood goes all out for the holidays. It’s festive, dazzling, and the ultimate way to get into the holiday spirit with friends old and new.

• Date: Saturday, December 12th
• Meetup Time: 3:00 PM (to travel together and catch the lights right as dusk falls)
• Meeting Location: Herald Square area
• Vibe: Casual, festive group walk followed by warm drinks/food nearby.

### Logistics & Transit Plan (From Near Penn Station)

We will meet up centrally near the 34th Street outside Marcy's Broadway exit area at 3:00 PM

• The Route (~45–50 minutes):
• Walk over to the 34 St-Herald Sq subway station.
• Take the D Train southbound directly to 71 St in Brooklyn (or take the N/Q to Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center and transfer to the R train to 86th St).
• The Walking Tour Route:
• We’ll arrive in the neighborhood right around 4:00 PM as the sun sets and the lights flick on.
• The core display area spans roughly 11th to 13th Avenues from 83rd to 86th Streets in Dyker Heights. The absolute best blocks are around 84th Street. We will stroll at a relaxed pace to take photos and soak in the decorations.
• Post-Lights Warm-Up:
• After walking the blocks, we’ll head to a local diner or spot nearby in Brooklyn for hot cocoa, coffee, or a casual dinner to warm up and chat!

### What to Bring

• Bundle up: December evenings in Brooklyn get very cold, and we will be walking outside for 1.5 to 2 hours. Wear comfortable walking shoes, layers, a warm coat, hat, and gloves!
• Your Camera/Phone: Fully charged—you'll want lots of pictures.
