About us
Keeping it friendly - Keeping it fun!
Welcome! This meetup is for anyone interested in photography. All abilities are welcome and the emphasis will be on sharing our knowledge in a fun and relaxed way, learning as we explore London and beyond.
It makes no difference whether you have the latest expensive camera gear or a camera phone, come along and we'll find plenty of exciting things to photograph.
Our events will take us to some of the most iconic locations where you can find that “postcard" (or Instagram) shot but we will be looking for more than that, your professional guide will encourage you to use your imagination and get creative with your photography. If you are new to photography you will have the opportunity to understand the subject better and improve your picture-taking.
Under UK Photo Tours, we run multi-day tours and workshops, traveling to England’s picturesque Lake District, photograph nightscapes in Norfolk, rugged Jurassic Coast in Dorset, and Scotland’s incredible Isle of Skye and Glencoe for the breathtaking scenery.
Our wildlife workshops venture to some of the most spectacular wildlife locations in the UK, such as witnessing the birth of Atlantic Grey Seal Pups in Norfolk, charismatic Puffins on the Farne Islands, and the Norfolk Snettisham Spectacular, where over 100,000 wading birds take to the air.
We offer a variety of popular day trips during the year, including:
Stonehenge at sunset
Bodiam Castle
Vintage Airshows
Medieval Jousting
...and we offer workshops on macro photography, astrophotography (including moon photography), bubble photography, and water drop photography.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon.

Stonehenge at sunset! - Transport from central London included.
Starbucks Euston Tower, Unit 1A Euston Tower Podium, Regents Place, London NW1 3DP, London, al, GBJoin us on an amazing day to photograph the world's most iconic prehistoric monument, Stonehenge, at golden hour & sunset!
We'll spend several hours on site, making the most of what nature has to offer as the light changes.
We'll be shooting from the north and east aspects of Stonehenge, which is the most attractive side and also perfect in winter as the sun sets in a south-westerly direction, thus giving us our best chances of colour in the sky!
Please note: Entry into Stonehenge itself isn't included (as not all participants wish to go in for closer shots). For those wishing to, the entry price is currently around £25, and you can book online through English Heritage (our ETA at Stonehenge is 1:30 PM). Message me if you require more details.
Situated on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, the early henge was built around 5,000 years ago & the unique stone circle was erected in the late Neolithic period, ~ 2,500 BC, with final modifications estimated to have been made around 1,500 BC. Stonehenge consists of an outer circle of 30 standing stones called "sarsens", which surround five huge stone arches in a horseshoe shape. There were also two circles made of smaller "bluestones" – one inside the outer circle & one inside the horseshoe – as well as four "station stones" positioned outside the central monument.
Don't have a telephoto lens & want to take some close-up pics like the sample shots? We've got you covered, as we'll have multiple camera setups and lenses available to borrow if requested (please let me know when booking). Just make sure you bring a spare blank SD card.
Recommended equipment:
- Walk around/kit lens (eg 18-55mm, 24-70mm, 18-105mm)
- Zoom lens – Recommended for close-ups on stones (eg 70-200mm, 70-300mm)
- Note – The focal length (full frame equivalent) sample images were taken between 35mm (long exposure shot), 70mm (all of Stonehenge), and 200mm (close-up of the stones).
- For those paying the extra for entry, a wide-angle lens is highly recommended. ie 16-35mm, 18-55mm, etc.
- Tripod – Recommended.
- Shutter trigger (wired (preferred), wireless/phone) – recommended for long exposures above 30 seconds for most cameras.
- ND Filters – optional (for any long exposures)
Included:
- Travel to and from central London (from Starbucks, Unit 1A Euston Tower, NW1 3DP), in our comfortable 8-seat vehicle
- Photographic tuition
- Camera and lens setups to borrow if required (bring a spare, blank SD card)
- Battery charging facilities if required (bring your USB or wall plug charger)
Not included:
Food and drink (tearoom & facilities available at Stonehenge on arrival)
Entrance within Stonehenge (we'll be photographing from the boundary at sunset as public access within the grounds closes)Important Note: Please dress for the weather (and then bring extra!). Multiple layers, a hat, and gloves are strongly recommended. Also, bring a waterproof jacket/umbrella just in case, and wear appropriate footwear for walking. Stonehenge is on an exposed open plain with no cover, so bring an extra layer to protect from the wind. DRESS WARM!
Where we'll meet:
We'll meet at Starbucks Coffee, Unit 1A Euston Tower Podium, Regents Place, London NW1 3DP, at 11:00 am & and we'll talk about what to expect on the day and go through previous photos and discuss settings, composition, etc.
We'll be leaving Starbucks at 11:20 AM & expect to return to London around 7:00-8:00 PM (depending on traffic, of course). Please make sure you check TFL to arrive at the meeting point on time as we will have to leave exactly at 11:20 am sharp. Unfortunately, refunds will not be given if you are late, hence our meeting time is a full 20 minutes before our departure. Please be sure you can attend before RSVPing yes, as refunds can only be given if your place is taken by another participant. Thank you.
More info and pics can be found on our Stonehenge Sunset Photography Tour website page.

Scotney Castle, + Bodiam Castle at sunset!
Starbucks Euston Tower, Unit 1A Euston Tower Podium, Regents Place, London NW1 3DP, London, al, GBJoin us as we visit two of the photographic jewels of medieval England, the landscaped gardens of Scotney Castle and the picturesque Bodiam Castle in West Sussex!
Bodiam Castle:
Constructed in 1385 to help protect against invasion from the French during the Hundred Years War, this impressive example of a moated castle provides us with plentiful composition opportunities to take advantage of the beautiful symmetrical reflections available in the wide moat. We'll also explore behind the castle walls and ascend the towers to admire the view of the surrounding countryside. Our visit will be timed so we can take advantage of being able to photograph the exterior after the tourists have left, allowing us to capture some iconic shots that would be difficult otherwise.
"Set in the heart of a historic landscape, with spiral staircases, battlements, and a portcullis, 14th century Bodiam Castle is one of Britain's most picturesque and romantic ancient monuments. Windows where arrows were once loosed, a tower that was once a lookout, and ruins that were once walked upon by knights; this is a place where you can relive your childhood memories and let your imagination run riot.
In the impressive gatehouse is the castle's original wooden portcullis, an extremely rare example of its kind and, beyond into the courtyard, enough of the interior ruins survive to give an impression of castle life."We'll also visit 12th-century Scotney Castle, a picturesque country castle ruins set in the landscaped gardens of a manor estate.
Scotney Castle:
"In the 1830s Edward's grandson, Edward Hussey III, transformed the estate. He hired architect Anthony Salvin to build a new house at the top of the hill overlooking the valley. Edward Hussey III had the imagination to transform the Old Castle into a ruin to act as the focus of his new landscape garden.
As a result of his vision, Scotney Castle is now celebrated as one of the most significant survivals of a complete Picturesque landscape."Recommended Equipment
