What we’re about
This is a group for all people who love to travel and are also interested in local events and festivals. Weekend getaways in Michigan and other fun cities in the states and Canada. Longer getaways USA, Canada, Mexico, European and cruises. We will include local events of interest as well. The purpose is to have fun, meet new people, share experiences see new places and possibly get better rate. This group is primarily for the mature traveler. We value traditional roles. You MUST post a photo of yourself. Scenic photo's are nice but I will not be able to recognize you at an event so please post one of yourself. Group photo's are not acceptable either.
Most of the members are over 50+ and also single. We have a few traditional couples as well.
***NOTE THIS IS NOT A DATING SITE AND YOU WILL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY IF YOU CONTACT MEMBERS VIA MESSENGER THAT YOU HAVE NOT MET.***
I am not fond of no shows and will remove you from the group if you have 2 no show. Please if something comes up, have the courtesy to change your RSVP to no!
UPDATE:
I am getting tougher on NO SHOWS! If there are restaurant reservations and or a wait list and you do not bother to show up you will be immediately removed from the group if you do not let me know of a situation that prevented you from attending. I know that things do come up in life and I just need to hear from you and I will wave based on reason. I sometimes have to give my credit card to guarantee a number. That goes for many fine restaurants. If you do not show up it reflects bad on me, our group and Meetup in general. Do not double book. A good way to remember your COMMITMENT is to put it on your personal calendar. In the app for Meetup you can click on the symbol next to the event and it will ask to add to calendar! I STRONGLY suggest that you use this feature.
My time as well as yours and all of my member is valuable, please be respectful of that.
Just so you know I am charged $180 every 6 months to use this platform. At this time I do not charge a membership.
One last thing...some of us have allergies or asthma and cannot tolerate strong colognes...please refrain from wearing that when attending an event.
Thank you so much for your cooperation!
Linda

(I highly recommend purchasing travel protection for health etc.)## Two islands serve a melting pot of cultures, blended like nowhere else on the planet.
The Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Arabs, and others have all, at one point or another, settled on the islands of Sicily and Malta. This tour puts that multicultural medley on full display. On Sicily, you’ll journey from the Norman palaces of Palermo to the Byzantine lanes of Ragusa; on Malta, you’ll discover Hospitaller fortresses in Valletta and Roman ruins in Rabat. As you travel both, you’ll sample divine foods and wines that are world-famous for their freshness and flavor.
