Detroit Riverwalk and Lunch at Eastern Market

This weekend, I took a drive to Detroit and checked out the area for this event. I made some changes to make the walk/lunch much easier on all of us. Here they are:

Meet time is still 12pm sharp.

Meet location is now RIVARD PLAZA, 1340 East Atwater, (Rivard & Atwater) (if you're familiar with this area, its the building with the carousel/cafe). There is parking at this location! Meet in the front of the building. I have uploaded a picture of the building:

We will walk and take the Dequindre Cut to Eastern Market. It is approximately 2-2.5 MILES EACH WAY. We will be walking at a fairly BRISK pace. Please wear comfy shoes, such as athletic shoes! I'm assuming we'll arrive there by 1pm, where we will most likely split up into either 2 groups or a couple of smaller groups, choose a restaurant for lunch, then check out Eastern Market to see what they have for us to buy.

At 3:30 sharp, we'll be grouping up again on the corner of Russell & Chrysler Dr, to begin our walk back. If you are not there at 3:30, I will assume you have decided to walk back earlier or decided to stay longer and walk back by yourself.

Some great places down there for lunch are A Taste of Ethiopia, Supino's Pizza, Vivio's Food & Spirits, among a few others. Two others that are good but a bit further of a walk are Sala Thai, and Roma Cafe.

I recommend you wear athletic shoes, bring a bottle of water with you, and if you plan to do some shopping, perhaps a backpack would be a good idea. Dress for the weather!!!

Note: Don't even think about going on that carousel, its closed for the winter, plus they have an alarm on it! :)

Sorry, no pets on this walk due to the simple fact, where would you put them during lunch?.....Plus, I'm not even sure they're allowed at Eastern Market.
