Future of AI

Hellloooo futurists!

I've just put our first post-covid real-life meeting on the calendar, and it'll be outdoors -- June 10th, which is a Saturday, and we'll do our usual 2:00 to 4:00 pm time. June 10th hopefully will have good weather with no snow but also not be too hot.

The location is Scott Carpenter Park, which is around Arapahoe & 30th in Boulder -- turn south on 30th from Arapahoe, the entrance will be on your right, go to the southernmost end of the parking lot, and walk further south from there into the park (towards Boulder Creek and the bridge). You'll see a big tree & a bench. Let's meet there. (If anyone else happens to already be there, we'll just have to make them join our discussion.)

The topic is "Future of AI". I'm not doing any special preparation or presentation for this -- I've been up to my eyeballs in AI papers for the last few months, so I'll just rattle off some thoughts related to those. But there's no way I've seen everything that's going on, so I'd like for all of you to jot down stuff you think I don't know about. We'll have an open-ended discussion.

So the plan is: open-ended discussion on the future of AI. Everyone bring something interesting to talk about or something you think I don't know. We'll see if we can understand what is happening and where the future is going to go from here.
