Chicken Festival @ Lake Lanier Olympic Park - Gainesville!
Details
I will be out of town for this event, but I will leave you in good hands with someone who is already familiar with it - Debbie!
Bring your bag chair, and enjoy some delicious chicken and side options at the festival, or simply bring your own food/drink if you prefer.
For obvious reasons, this is a weather permitting event. Stay posted for any necessary cancellation.
Mark your calendars to flock to Gainesville-Hall County this fall – the 2025 Gainesville Chicken Festival, "Georgia’s Official Chicken Cook-Off," will be BACK and better than ever.
Known as the Poultry Capital of the World, the City of Gainesville looks forward to bringing back this fan-favorite event Saturday, Oct. 18, featuring 17,000 pounds of freshly cooked chicken. Sample tried-and-true recipes, plus some new ones, from professional and amateur pitmasters cooking on the Lake Lanier Olympic Park Plaza who know how to prepare award-winning drumsticks, wings, legs, tenders and thighs.
Participating cook teams – which will be barbecuing, frying, grilling and sautéing the day’s grub – will also be judged in multiple categories for a chance to win the grand champion title, among others. Festival-goers will have the final say as to which team receives the prized People’s Choice Award, so don’t forget to vote!
