4th of July Block Party @ Lake Lanier - Gainesville!

Carol is hosting a 4th of July cookout for the group! She and her neighbors have a block party celebration every year and you won't want to miss it! Carol lives on Lake Lanier near Laurel Park (exact address will be updated as the event gets closer) and has a private dock where we can watch the fireworks that evening.

At 4PM, there is an EPIC water balloon battle/war from dock to dock that's sure to be a blast. You can participate or be a spectator/heckler. These are not your kindergarten balloons/slingshots, so bring your muscle - Carol has purchased 1000 of them for us to use (she means business!).

What to bring:

*Bag chair (in case it's needed)

• Your drink of choice
  *A reusable drink container to minimize plastic waste (if possible)
• side dish/appetizer

Suggested side dishes below:

• Buns - hamburger/hot dog
  *Condiments - Ketchup, mustard, mayo
• Sliced cheese for the burgers/hot dogs
  *Fruit, cheese, meat platter or stand-alone items
• Veggies/veggie platter
  *Salads - potato, slaw, bean, etc.
• Baked beans
  *Mac & Cheese
• Meat/cheese pinwheels/sandwiches
  *Chips/dip
• Desserts
  *Drinking water - gallons not individual bottles
• Ice
  *Any other traditional party/cookout side

Items Needed:

• Outdoor foldable table(s)
  *Two large coolers

What to wear: Anything comfy and cool. Bring your swimsuit if you'd like to get into the water in the cove.

Parking: While there is adequate parking for approximately 10 cars, that's likely not going to be enough if everyone drives separately. PLEASE team up with others and carpool to save you the grief of not having somewhere to park. A good meetup spot to carpool could be Laurel Park - at the boat ramp parking lot.
