About us
Gainesville Nonviolent Communication is a community of folks seeking personal and collective transformation through the power of self-responsible, honest, and compassionate communication and listening. We aim to connect hearts across Gainesville using Nonviolent Communication (www.cnvc.org) and other tools.
It’s a language and set of tools for harmony where connection has been broken or lost, and for restoring a pathway to closeness, intimacy, and authentic expression with those around them.
We offer an introduction to the principles of nonviolent communication, as well as advanced skills and other nuanced topics. Practice consists of teaching exercises, discussion, and role plays. You are free to participate as much or as little as you would like.
Our trainers, Leif, Marina, Eze, and Kathleen offer workshops as well as coaching for individuals, couples and families. To get in touch, or find out more, visit www.gnvc.love

Saying Hard Things without Pushing People Away
Sage Wellness, 4881 NW 8th Ave, GAINESVILLE, FL, USIn-Person Workshop in Gainesville, Florida - at Sage Wellness
Title: Saying Hard Things without Pushing People Away
Are you wanting to express yourself but find that the other person gets hurt or defensive?
Are you wanting to learn better ways to feel understood when you are having unmet needs, and wanting understanding?
“The most basic of all human needs is the need to be understood.”
– Ralph G. NicholsIn this workshop we will focus on how to be honest with responsibility.
How to share our world with another with words that help them see us.What happened, what needs you are having, why it's important for you, what is happening within your world... and avoid unconsciously (or consciously) blaming, labeling, and putting the responsibility of your experience onto others.
In this workshop, Kathleen will model some communication scenarios, support participants to process their own situations, and create a safe space for practicing new skills (if desired) that you can carry into your life right away.
Objectives:
1. Be able to define universal human needs.
2. Be able to connect to your own needs and body sensations.
3. Be able to recognize when you want to blame, and how to translate that to your own experience and unmet needs.
4. Successfully practice verbal responses that highlight values and needs. Please Register, seats are limited to 12.
