Title: The Four Hidden Habits that Sabotage Relationships
Are you frustrated by ways in which you argue with people in your life, or get frustrated by their reactions?
Do you find that the other person mysteriously gets hurt or defensive, and you want to discover new ways to connect?
“The most basic of all human needs is the need to be understood.” – Ralph G. Nichols
In this workshop we will focus on investigating our own subtle habits that may be pushing others away and practice new ways of being honest. We will shine a light on some reactions and expressions that are not connecting, but are maybe more like defending, denying, demanding or diagnosing!
In this workshop, Kathleen will model some communication scenarios, support participants to process their own situations, and create a safe space for practicing new skills.
Objectives:
- Learn four common habits that might be fear-responses that protect rather than connect.
- Learn the difference between needs and neediness.
- Gain awareness of labels and why these shortcuts don’t connect us.
- Practice new ways of expressing your experience and needs.
Seats are limited to 10.
